As promised last month, Richard Rowley did manage to squeeze his 1968 California Special Mustang through the double doors into Daizies? dining room for us all to admire. 3500 of these limited edition specials were produced and built alongside the Shelby Mustangs of that era. They can be distinguished from regular Mustangs by a pair of fog lights in the grill, different tail end treatment and side scoops. Richard found this low-mileage, recently-restored car in Sacramento on EBay, he?s owned it now for 6 months; but had it here in Gippsland for less than half that time. It runs a 302, alloy-headed V8 engine, a 5-speed gearbox, 4-wheel disc brakes and an LSD rear axle. The interior is all new and the entire car is immaculate ? Richard is of the opinion that the exhaust is too noisy, but those of us who have heard that classic burble, completely disagree.
