BBQ LUNCH RUN/OPEN GARAGE at John & Kira Moore?s in Leongatha

John Fowler has excelled himself twice this week organising two excellent runs through our glorious Gippsland hills, one on Wednesday and again on Sunday. The weather was kinder to us today, so we enjoyed the panoramic sunny views from the Tetoora Rd that were a bit misty last Wednesday. The drive was about 90km with a ?comfort stop? at Poowong. The route from Darnum, included Ellinbank, Bena, Outtrim and on to Leongatha.
After an 11am start we arrived at the Moore?s farm ?Parc Ferme? around 12.30pm. The 13 cars in our convoy were joined by 5 or 6 members who had driven directly to the venue. Our usual eclectic mix of great cars included a couple on ?maiden? outings for their new owners: Paul Montagnat?s beautiful left-hand drive pink Ford Thunderbird and the Richards? very smart 2003 Mazda MX5 Classic.
Moore?s have recently added a shed 13m wide x 16m long x 5m high complete with mezzanine and hoist – everybody should have one! The shed houses John & Kira?s fleet of sports cars comprising a racing ?Spridget?, 2 MGBGT V8?s, a ?work-in-progress? Sprite, Monte Carlo Rally replica Austin Healey 3000, and a pair of identical (1989 & 1990) Mazda MX5?s as well as a big black Suzuki motor bike.
John & Kira had set up a BBQ, some tables with tea/coffee, a delicious salad and a selection of (diet?) cakes to complement our BYO lunches. Even entertainment was provided by two Kelpies insistent on playing ?frisbee? with anyone willing to participate!
Another great sociable outing.
Marg and Alan Humphreys.
