BREAKFAST CLUB, Warragul CBD – Sunday 9th December

Another beautiful Warragul morning brought with it a capacity turnout of classic and sporting cars for our final breakfast gathering in 2012. Making their Breakfast Club debuts were Greg Noller?s competition-prepared MGA and Mark Sanford?s Vauxhall Firenza which had only recently arrived in Australia after its sea voyage from the UK. There was also the return of several cars that had been in hibernation over the cooler months. Bob Russell cranked up one of his pair of RT Chargers, which together with a Group Nc Torana XU1 added some Aussie flavour to the muscle car department featuring a range of classic American iron. There were also plenty of European classics to admire, including a very rare Borgward Isabella Coupe, a Jaguar XJS and Graham Longmore?s Aston Martin DBS.
In the past, several of my own vehicles have been the subject of photographs sent to me by the Dept of Civil Compliance. The arrival of an intimidating Highway Pursuit Commodore into our midst gave me the opportunity to return the favour and turn the lens the other way. The driver of the Highway Patrol vehicle was one of our Club members who stopped off to admire the get-together before heading off to work. Nice to know we have some sporting and classic car enthusiasts amongst the boys in blue.
