With the weather on the improve, the weekends begin to become busy with conflicting events and the ever-present domestic duties on the run up to Xmas. Last month?s Breakfast Club gathering saw some of our regulars heading off to the Mt Tarrengower Historic Hillclimb and also a Phillip Island round of the State Race Series; but with fine weather drawing people out, there were still plenty of cars on display in the Warragul CBD.
The sports cars were out in force, Bruce and Diane Crowther, who are usually seen in their red Honda S2000 brought their recently ?almost completed? red TR6 out for its debut appearance and parked it next to Ed Denovan?s similar model in green. Both cars were beautifully presented and the talk soon turned to Lucas Petrol Injection.
Bill and Judy Aitken, recently back from a trip up north, brought their Healey 3000 out of hibernation, as did Rolly Ruck with his MGB. There were a couple of other MGBs including the Moore?s GTV8, a couple of Sprites, A 260Z, an MX5, Ian Hodge?s MGTF on its second run up from Melbourne in a week, but this time with his grandson Nicholas in Mary?s seat. Graham Longmore had the D-type out for a run and there were a couple of late model Capris including new member John Hogbin who had a roofless run in from the Valley in his Clubsprint. Mark Sanford managed to get his Lancia Montecarlo started and drove in from down nearLochand there was also a lovely Alfetta GTV boosting the Italian representation. Mercedes were out in force with a range of sedans and a brutish looking coupe. A couple of tidy 944 Porsches added to the German contingent. On the Muscle Car front we had a couple of Mustangs including the black 1969 fastback of new member Steve Trapnell and the Falcon GT of Andy Thorpe from Neerim South.
Sedans were also well represented by a very tidy HR Holden, a purple early model Valiant, a Ford Fairlane and at the other end of the scale, Allan Richard?s Mini Deluxe.
