How lucky are we to live in such a picturesque region of Victoria with a choice of interesting derestricted roads just out our back doors? John Fowler?s D to D run took us away from the well-worn tracks and along some fantastic drivers? roads north of the highway including some of my favourites like Old Telegraph Rd (East) and the Rokeby-Jindivick Rd.
As usual there was an eclectic collection of old and new sporting cars and classic sedans gathered at the Stump Tea Rooms rendezvous point. Bob and Sue Murphy surprised us when they arrived in their ?new? Z4 BMW roadster, having recently accepted an out-of-the-blue offer on their 911 Carrera. Final instructions were issued and maps distributed for what was expected to be a 1-hour drive, then the convoy set off heading north through Nilma out towards Buln Buln, Rokeby, Jindivick and Labertouche before returning to Drouin where the 28 participants enjoyed and Italian lunch at Luciano?s Restaurant.
Our thanks to John for organising this very pleasant little run though our local region.
