ROUTE:? We departed the General Store at 11am following a brief description by John of the direction and roads we were to travel on, ensuring that none of us would get lost?.
We all departed using the MX5 as a bonnet mascot heading west through Gainsborough, Ellinbank, down Hunters Road, up Lardners Track onto the picturesque Torwood ? Topiram Road and along the ridge to the Drouin South Rd, then on and left at Drouin Sth. The scenery along the way was spectacular.
We then proceeded on via Coster Rd at Ripplebrook to Longwarry, then east uphill and by-passing Drouin on McGlones Rd around the Golf Course, crossing the freeway at Robin Hood, and followed the old Princes Highway to Labertouche Rd and on to the Winery on School Rd.
WINERY: We had a lovely meal which consisted of our choice of Pastas, Pizzas, Risottos or chicken and preceded by a variety of Beer and Gypsy Creek?s own wine and Cider. The staff were very attentive.
Some of the meals were a bit slow coming out (ask John – but were worth waiting for); but this enabled us to partake of a bit more of the refreshments and chatter.
INCIDENTS:? One Mustang went home 2 km from start after hitting road bumps. The same old problem being that the boot flies open on rough roads. I believe Ford are working on this problem and suggest taking the BMW next time.
SPECIAL THANKS:? To Jan and John Fowler for organizing this great day and also to the management and staff of Gypsy Creek Winery for opening especially for this car club event.
REPORTERS:? Denise and Brian Jolly (Corvette)
