On a warm summer?s evening, on a train bound for ?. Whoops! Let?s try again.
On a warm summer?s evening, an eclectic collection of modern and classic sporting vehicles assembled in the main street of Yarragon awaiting their instructions for our Club?s first official Twilight Run. Mark had ordered the fine weather especially for our convertible brigade and had mapped out a route to Drouin that kept us north of the highway and away from the traffic. Unfortunately the initial stage of the run headed north and westward out through Shady Creek and into the setting sun which made visibility a bit tricky. This could explain why a couple of participants missed the Mizpah Settlement Road turnoff and struggled to get back on track! Those who followed the instructions ended up in Neerim South before heading out past the Tarago Reservoir and on to Jindivick. From there it was a simple, but picturesque run along Jackson?s Track and Labertouche Rd, which connected with the Old Princes Highway for the run back into Drouin. Parking outside Luciano?s Pizza Restaurant, was at a premium, but most participants found room in the Bowling Club carpark opposite. Several members met the tour at Luciano?s which meant that we exceeded the numbers relayed to the restaurant at the start of the run. However, they managed to find some extra space for us and all was good. I guess next time, we?ll need ask people to book in prior to the event.
With over 30 members participating in this run, and a similar number at last month?s BMC Run, it looks like evening events may be a popular activity during the daylight-saving period. If you would like to have your say, add a comment to the ?Leave a Reply? box below.

Apologies for the crappy ‘action’ photos – your editor obviously needs to do some research and figure out how the camera should be configured for low light action shots 🙂
