GRAHAM LONGMORE?S FAREWELL GATHERING, Tyers Hall ? Friday 2nd February

The small country hall was bursting at the seams as Sporting Register members together with Graham and Marg?s many friends all gathered to celebrate the life of one very exceptional and well-loved gentleman.

On display in the hall were collections of Graham?s art work and photography which ranged from studies of the human form to automotive subjects, architecture and family pets. Graham worked mainly in black and white and some of his pre-digital cameras and lenses were also on display. Graham and Marg have been a long-time supporters of the annual Tyers Art Festival which raises money for the local primary school, and in recognition of this, the entire school assembled in the hall and sang us the National Anthem.

Outside, the hall was surrounded by an impressive assemblage of sporting and classic cars with Graham?s D-type taking pride of place by the entrance. Over 35 vehicles convoyed down from Warragul, meeting up with a similar number upon arrival at the venue.

Marg mentioned that Graham would have been terribly embarrassed by all the fuss and attention, he was a humble man and would probably have retreated to the shed. But all agreed,  it was a fine and fitting way to bid our farewells.

Thank you to all who assisted Marg in organising the function, as well as to everybody who bought a plate and shared their personal experiences of Graham with others.

Rest in peace mate.

Steve
