MID-WEEK RUN to Caldermeade Farm Caf? – Wed 21st October

Heading off to meet outside the Drouin Bowling Club, before the drive to Caldermeade Farm, the weather was quite inclement. So, unfortunately we (my husband John & I) couldn?t take the TR6 for a run, so had to resort to the XR6 Turbo Ute. After a debriefing by John Fowler under a ?dripping? tree, we all headed to our vehicles for the trip.? Some followed Jan & John in their Territory (apparently both the MX5 and the Sprite were out of action for this run!)? A few braved the weather in their sports cars, but it certainly wasn?t a day for ?hoods down/off?.? An enjoyable drive was taken through the lush farmland of Lardner, Hallora & Ripplebrook, then on through the flats of the swamp through the townships of Bayles and Koo Wee Rup.? Some others took a more direct route, but all ending up at our destination for lunch. A group of 30 people and 18 cars made the trip (Old & New ? that?s the cars & possibly the people too!) Some of the vehicles to brave the weather were an MG TD, a Mustang, a Valiant Station Wagon, Jaguar XJS,?two Porsches and?two fastback MGB?s.? Everyone enjoyed their various selected meals and as usual, the chatter continued until everyone went their own way home.

Thanks to John & Jan Fowler for organising?and planning the Mid-Week Run, and if anyone has any suggestions on destinations, I am sure that they would love to hear them. It must be difficult to come up with somewhere different each time, so once again Thank you John & Jan.

By the way?it has taken me?eight?pieces of Cadbury Hazelnut Chocolate to complete this little article (after I was ?dobbed? in by my loving husband to write it).
