BAW BAW SHIRE’S AUSTRALIA DAY DISPLAY – Monday 26th January

This was the first time that we had been invited to put on a display of Club vehicles for the Baw Baw Shire?s Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony, so it was pleasing to see 14 of our beautifully presented classic cars supporting the event and assembled on the grass near the lake in Warragul?s Civic Park. There were cars from different eras as well as sports /racing cars, coupes and sedans representing a range of different motoring marques. Positioned as we were between the CFA pumper trucks and a very dirty and poorly presented Highway Patrol car, the display attracted plenty of interest from the large crowd that had gathered to celebrate Australia Day. The weather was perfect and the free snags tasted pretty good as well.

If any of the Sporting Register members reading this were part of this year’s Latrobe City Australia Day display in Morwell, your editor would appreciate a short write up of the event with photos if possible, for our website and the next edition of Idle Chatter. Please email any information to: editor@sportingregister.org.au before this Thursday (29th January).
